Eli: Good night's sleep!
At the risk of cursing ourselves, Eli got a good night's sleep yesterday for a newborn. He went 9PM-4:30AM between feedings! We even tried to wake him up at midnight when I went to sleep so that he can hopefully repeat the night before when he went 11:30PM-4:30AM. But Eli was out cold and we let him sleep instead (not much choice!).
Dr. Moore was very much for letting the baby sleep at night, not waking for feeding, so he can learn the difference between day and night. And on the flipside, try to wake the baby up every few hours (we've been doing 3) in the day so he knows day is for being awake, as much awake as a baby could be.
As for the day, I was starting to wonder if we were getting into the realm of sleep aids for Eli: rocking, holding, nursing or sucking to sleep. But three times today he fell asleep by himself. Once each in the bouncy seat, on the floor (although he didn't last long) and the bassinet. Hoping to continue to train him on that.
Crossing our fingers for tonight. 9:40PM through...?
