Musical beds

Did I mention how after triumphantly posting how we reclaimed our bedroom from Eli that we ended up sleeping out on the couch/futon when my mom came back and reclaimed the guest room? That our upgrade from a 2BR condo to a 3BR quickly became "not enough" with the addition of a 2nd kid? That although the two boys will hopefully share a room someday, that for now, they each need their own room leaving us or guests out in the dust?

With my family all coming to town next week (again!) and accidentally driving them all into a hotel because we want the guest room for Eli, I started thinking about options. Maybe Eli can sleep in Tobey's room and Tobey can sleep in our room with us. Tobey's more consistent in sleeping through the night and might be a heavier sleeper. Plus, it's been a while but maybe Tobey isn't as noisy as Eli and we can all happily sleep in the same room together. That way Tom and I don't "hog up" the common area of the house like we did the other night when my dad was hoping to stay up to watch more news coverage of Peter Jennings' passing. Eh, well, I think my family is all happy in a hotel, especially since they will all be there together. But the next visit by anyone will bring up the same issue of where does everyone sleep, happily?

But for tonight, I'm looking forward to peacefully sleeping in our own bed.
