Landscaper

Almost like making some kind of baby or family announcement, we've been telling friends that after a year and a half of do-it-yourselfness, Tom hired a landscaper to do our yard.

He really deserves it since yardwork is no small task. Not only will a landscaper ease his stress, it will also ease mine. I felt guilty that I'd hesitate whenever Tom asked if it was a good time to mow the lawn or fertilize or weed. Frankly, there's never a really good time for anything that takes a lot of weekend time.

And although he's spent hours, HOURS, researching (fertilizer, grass seed, grubs, weed killer) and buying tools that we now don't really need, I think getting a landscaper is good for us at this stage in our lives. Tom knows our yard and can guide a landscaper. And maybe when our kids are older and can help mow the lawn (or when I'm not so strapped for kid "relief" on the weekends), then maybe we can ditch the landscaper and do-it-ourselves again. But I think this is a good thing for us right now.
