Eli: Bobbeh
At 21 months, Eli is still rather non-verbal. He basically only says our names: Daddy, Ee-eye, Mommy (just in the last two days!) and my personal favorite, Bob-beh, his way of saying "Tobey". And he only says them for fun. It's not like he says them at any appropriate time when he needs our attention.
He does babble sometimes which I hope is a sign that he eventually WILL talk. And I'm starting to recognize some of his utterances for "milk", "music" and what sounds like "here".
If we can count sign language words, he knows a few more: more, all done, please, thank you, sorry (rarely used) and music (when he wants us to turn on the CD player). I taught him the sign for "shoes" because he kept taking his off and leaving them behind while I ran errands but he rarely uses it -- he just says "heh!" and points to the shoe. I also taught him "change" for changing his diaper which at some point just turned into pointing to his crotch when he has a poopy diaper. And he does this weird hand washing motion when he wants general help with his shoes. Oh, wait, maybe he is saying "shoe"?
I guess his gears are turning!
