Eli: 5th percentile
It's official. We've got a little peanut. Eli weighed in yesterday at 15 lbs. 3 oz., the 5th percentile. Dr. Moore isn't worried and when I see Eli happy and social, then I don't worry. But otherwise, I do worry a little and now am armed with rice cereal and formula to start supplementing.
It was nice to hear Dr. Moore tell us what milestones are important, what things he is looking for at this age. Eli tracked vision very well and was grabbing interesting things. So what that he doesn't flip over back to front. Dr. Moore said flipping and crawling are the most useless milestones. :-)
It's an interesting state of mind, new for me at least, to provide more for Eli to eat. Lord knows no Lih has ever had a problem with too little weight and Tobey certainly didn't either. I just hope I can "catch" Eli in time before his eating habits are more concrete. People laud Tobey's eating habits (how nicely he sits, how proper he eats, how much he eats, how little he fusses while eating) that I hope to train Eli as well too so that mealtime doesn't become a battle. But when Eli fusses while nursing (letdowns not fast enough? all done?) or when he comes out 5th percentile (!), I just hope he isn't already a fussy eater.
