Relapse

Apparently we jumped the gun on Tobey's recovery yesterday, feeding him basically normal food including eggs and meat. By dinner yesterday, he threw up the day's food before dinner and plain jook before bed. This morning he threw up Jell-O and this afternoon, he couldn't even keep down water (he might have had too much in our effort to keep him hydrated). He had 5 baby spoons of jook tonight before he said he felt a little sick. Poor guy is konked out on the futon and Tom will probably sleep out in the playroom tonight to keep him company.

Speaking of Tom, given that we are going through this again, I was glad that we're going through it together today. I don't know if I could have handled another day like today by myself after already having gone through it alone on Wednesday. So at Richard's suggestion and at my asking, Tom is seeing if he can take a day off tomorrow. Tobey just needs so much love and comfort right now. Even though he doesn't do much in the day, it seems too sad to just leave him alone on the couch or in his bed for long stretches of time. Eli has been really good but being at his age, he can't be left alone for that long either. Having both of us at home would really be relieving for me. We'll see.
