A new sickness
Our kids are notorious for always being sick in the winter. So much so that Cindy doesn't even promise Zachary if he'll see Tobey at playdate anymore because you never know. :-)
But those were always colds. We've never really dealt with stomach flu until now. Neither kid throws up much, Tobey maybe 5 times in his life. But Tobey's about to surpass his record this morning alone. I've cleaned up 2 vomits in the last hour not including the 2 that Tom helped with this morning. Laundry is going non-stop, as is my hand washing. I haven't eaten because I feel too bad eating in front of Tobey who is complaining about being hungry. He's a good sport though. I'm eating now, hiding out in the kitchen, while he's occupied with Thomas. It might be a "2 Thomas" day today.
Dr. Moore says something's been going around, which sounds about right when Tiffany said Emi had the stomach flu and when we think back to Eli in the past few days. Dr. Moore said this strain seems to get most of its vomiting over in the first 12 hours and maybe once a day for a couple of days including diarrhea. While it's not anything to really look forward to, at least it's nice to have some info on it.
Well, not only will we have to cancel our plans for the next couple of days (I forgot to ask about contagiousness but really, need I?), I feel bad if Zachary (Monday) or Joshua (Tuesday) got it too.
