Eli: Fluent in Engrish

Tom recently made the observation that Eli's speech resembles Engrish, the language most commonly seen all over China written in English, clearly trying to make a point, but the words are just not right.

For instance:

Me: (to Tom) Tobey's nails are long, they need clipping.
Eli: Do me?

About trying to sleep in a thunderstorm:
Mommy, there's too much big ones [thunder]. It's scared to me. But it's not scared for little ones. I want teeny tiny ones. I want to sleep to something else.

About Tobey's birthday:
Mommy, Tobey is super big, he's six! Mommy, when will I turn something else?

On being scared from being alone:
Mommy, you were too upstairs. I was downstairs and I came upstairs.

Arguing:
You didn't said that!

Difference between 6 and 4 years old:
Tobey: Mommy, 90 minutes is an hour and a half.
Me: Yup!
Eli: Mommy, 9 minutes is hour.

But of course, Eli is a lot cuter than grammatically incorrect signs in China. Maybe I could make a lucrative business selling Eli-isms on t-shirts in China.
