Ice cream before lunch

Our good friends had a picture on their FB page of their son eating an ice cream treat. The caption was something to the effect of his birthday wish being that he wanted to eat ice cream before lunch.

I love this age when their desires are so simple. A 7 year old's dying wish: to have ice cream before lunch.

Besides loving our friends for being themselves, I love that they have similar random rules that we have, loosely based on the idea of not wanting our kids to be spoiled, but rather, semi-disciplined. So then I got to think what my kids' "last wishes" would be, if their mean mommy and daddy would only let them.

More than one piece of candy per week.
More than one ice cream truck treat per summer.
Two ice cream treats in one day. (notice a theme?)
To wear "sporty" shorts to church, because 6 days a week is not enough.
To be able to control their own air conditioning vent in the car.
To not have to wait a week before opening another birthday present.
To be able to drag their blanket downstairs to play with.
To be able to make as much noise as possible first thing in the morning.
To eat homemade french toast or pancakes for breakfast everyday.
To have breakfast in bed.
To not have to eat with utensils.

We're so mean. ;-)
