Tom's been obsessed with his new toy, the digital SLR and the new lens he bought and a 50mm portrait lens he borrowed from his cousin.

It's been great because he's been taking a lot of pictures, just in time for our busy Memorial Day weekend. The downside is that now when we look at the pictures together on the laptop, it's not a trip down memory lane or recalling a fun memory; it's a narrative on how the special lens he bought produces a blurry effect depending on the lighting and depth of focus that he chose, yadda yadda yadda. Last night while thumbing through the pics, he even asked if I wanted to hear all the detail about the mechanics of the picture and I said no. And he continued to tell me about the effect he was trying to get with that particular lens and shot.

So now he's telling Tobey about depth of focus and how one part is clear and the other part is fuzzy. Tobey seems to be interested or at least, a willing photo subject.
