Twinkle, twinkle

While catching up on 24, Tom and I heard Tobey all of a sudden start crying in his sleep. Tom went in to comfort him from his apparent bad dream (or our loud TV?) but I was touched that Tobey also wanted me to comfort him. For all the times I get frustrated and yell at him, I still had the privilege to have a tender moment of holding him until he wasn't afraid anymore.

So while I promised to sit with him on his bed for a little while, we started singing. And out of nowhere, Tobey sings Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star in Chinese, the whole song! Even I have to still think about the words to sing the whole song through. Granted we had the Little Panda CD on endlessly for the first week of Chinese song class. But he doesn't sing along during class and only seems interested when the toys/props/instruments come out during class.

I guess he is getting something out of the class. And it confirms his learning style. He doesn't "reveal" that he knows something until he is confident in his knowledge.
