Eli: Funny things

Moments I would forget as a mom if I didn't blog them down:

Eli loves to play with my brown fleece gloves. The other day, he had one on his left hand and I gave him the other so he could put on his right. He looks at the right glove on the floor and takes off his left glove to put on the right. Then he looks at the left glove on the floor and takes off his right glove to put on the left. Then he looks at the right glove on the floor and takes off the his left to put on the right. This happens about 3 times before he realizes the exercise is futile. And he yelps in frustration. The look on his face each time he saw yet another glove on the floor was precious. Wish I had the videocamera out. Maybe I'll play the cruel trick on him again so I can tape it.

Unrelated, the other night at dinner, the table was set and Eli started to eat his rice. But we hadn't said grace so Tobey goes over, yanks the bowl away from Eli and says, "No, we haven't prayed yet." Eli starts crying but we ignore it because it's true that we wait until we are all seated and said grace before we start eating. So Eli continues to cry and finally we all sit down. We tell Eli to stop crying but only after 20 seconds or so does he stop, sobbing, face all wet from tears. Then we pray and Eli holds our hands and is quiet. As soon as "Amen" is said, he starts up crying again. Geez, with such control, can someone say, "fake crying"? We could only laugh.
