Tobey: Sling
With both kids I wanted to try a sling, but never plunked down the money. Plus, it was a little harder to find in stores then, only online where the whole sizing and return issue surfaces. Now I see them much more commonly in stores.
At any rate, this morning Tobey decides to make a sling out of his yellow blanket. He says Ducky is grown up but Penguin is still a baby and proceeds to put him inside. Then he asked me to retie his sling so I made a pretty spiffy sling, I think.
Where did he get this idea from? At first I had no idea but now I know: because of his cough, Tobey sat in with me at MTO instead of going to school. He was armed with stack of library books, breakfast and an iPod with Dr. Seuss loaded. I had no idea he would actually pay attention to what was going on but alas, foolish me. I faintly remember one of the moms with a baby in sling or some kind of soft carrier besides a Bjorn. I can't even remember but apparently Tobey does!
On a side note: Tobey did GREAT at MTO. I was very proud of him. He was first entertained by feeding himself breakfast so that I could mingle. He read library books during game and worship. And during Karin's talk, he listened to Dr. Seuss on audiobook, a treat ever since we got the minivan and our iPod adapter doesn't work with no tape player. Twice with headphones on, he burst out with a laugh during her talk. Luckily, her talk was pretty lively and funny so I was more charmed than embarassed by his laughing. By the time discussion time came though, I think all my tricks were old and it was hard to keep him entertained so I left. All in all though, I was quite pleased with his behavior at MTO.
Lunch with Minette and Cedric was a different story! Pictures of the sling to follow.
