Eli: Go, Train, Go!

What's my #1 complaint about Eli? Spitting out food? Unpredictable sleeping? Throwing toys?

Tough to choose but I would say my most consistent complaint about Eli is that he doesn't talk.

Words to date:

Dah-dee (Daddy)
Bobby (Tobey)
Eyi (Eli)
Yah! (when excited)
Uh-oh (something drops)

Yup, that pretty much sums it up. Notice the absence of "Mommy"? He babbles a lot and says, "Meh!" when he wants something not limited to milk. But otherwise, no new words.

But this morning, he dropped a bomb on us and said, "Go, train, go!" from one of his favorite Thomas books. Tom and I didn't have to fake excitement -- we were truly excited that he said something and that he repeated after us. After a few more "Go train go's" on the drive up to MTO, he returned to his mute self.

But now there is reason to hope.
