First trip to the park w/ two

Went to the park today with Hoa. First time with both Tobey and Eli and the first time for me in a long time since Tom was doing park honors by biking Tobey to the park.

I think I got a little cocky and decided to save time by nursing Eli at the park while Tobey played. It didn't quite work that way and Hoa ended up helping Tobey a lot, including changing him into dry clothes after he got wet in the water play area. And after I had Eli in the Baby Bjorn, she also helped hoist Tobey into the swings, the ones that are chest high and hard to get into! I realized that going to the park with two is not easy and I end up needing the help of a 20-week pregnant friend to lift up a 30+ lb. toddler?

The other thing I realized was that going on a "quick" bathroom trip is next to impossible with a toddler. I felt too sheepish to ask Hoa to watch Tobey while I zipped to the bathroom. But I was quite "urgent" since I had chugged all that water in order to nurse Eli. I decided to wait until home but let's just say it wasn't a pleasant ride home.

So we might be going again tomorrow but this time note to self: Eli eats at home and will enjoy the view of the park from his carseat.
