First time at church

We finally made it to church this morning, and even to the 8:30 service! We decided that although Eli is sleeping in the morning and Tobey is awake until the afternoon, the early service still worked better. We never know how fussy Tobey might be as lunchtime nears, as it does during the late service. And if we just hustle, we can just keep our Sunday morning routine and not battle the 11AM nursery crowd.

It worked out beautifully this morning, as if God was saying, "I'm going to make it as easy as possible for you to get out of the house this week." Tobey got into nursery, despite the computer failure Safari Kids had this morning on opening day (spiritual warfare for sure!). Eli slept through the whole service which allowed us to stay in the main sanctuary, although we took seats in the last row at the end in case a quick exit is necessary. Never did meet who our future company might be in the crying room/chapel. :-)

Today was child dedication which prompted me to fast forward in my mind to when we would dedicate Eli. No reason to be as procrastinating as we were with Tobey and dedicate at 1 year old. And if they are going to have on in December like they usually do, maybe Dennis and Denise would be there to witness it too. In all of our years of ALCF, Tom's brother/sister-in-law have yet to visit. It would be great if they could make it this time, and for Eli's possible dedication too.

Now that we are back in the church scene, we started thinking about our church life again. Our small group is a bit in flux. Now that I know how to handle two on my own, Tom can probably finally volunteer in Safari Kids. There was a bulletin announcement about an ALCF Orchestra. And of course there's still Moms Time Out that is trying to get off the ground. It's sad to hear about one of our friends who are moving on to another church for a children's program that better fits their child's temperament. It does make me wonder how Tobey will do in a year when he hits the large Pre-K Safari Kids class. But I guess until then, we continue on and serve in the church we love and has ministered to us this far.
