National Organization Month

I read on the Silicon Valley Moms Blog that January is deemed National Organization Month by some organizer's association. I can see why January is so appropriate: I've got the organizing bug. It's a mix of holiday high, putting away Christmas decorations and realizing how much we have, out with the old/in with the new New Year's feeling. I'm in the mood for some organizing.

It actually started back before Christmas for me, sick of stumbling over the same toys and feeling like Tobey and Eli weren't really cherishing the (too many) toys that they had. Now I'm also in the mood to organize the kids' clothes into visible clear storage bins (on sale at Target this week) and I can't wait to dive in. Tonight our project was part one of moving the empty crib from Tobey's room to Eli's and have Eli finally sleep in a proper crib. At almost 18 months, I'd say it's about time we moved Eli out of the pack-n-play, poor guy.

So tonight we made room by moving out a bookshelf. Tomorrow it's moving around furniture and moving the crib. And when I saw the other bookshelf in Eli's room, I think I have my next task, after the clothes are done of course.
