First minivan diaper change and our honeymoon stage

I didn't expect my first diaper change in the minivan to come this soon. I didn't have to change Eli in the Camry trunk all that often so I thought I wouldn't have to justify all the money spent on our minivan as a glorified diaper changing table so soon.

But I did. And it is. And I was glad it was there.

We are clearly still in the honeymoon stage of having the minivan. I was glad I was well-equipped with diaper, wipes, pad and pooper scooper bag today (I don't always have all of them at the same time) so that there isn't a stinky diaper rolling around to compete with the new car smell.

I also actually took out the extra stuff from the minivan (Tobey's stuff from school) so that random stuff doesn't start accumulating in the car. (Tom is probably passed out on the floor reading this.)

And I haven't let the kids eat or drink in the car yet.

And although I rolled my eyes when Tom suggested we Scotchgard the carpeted surfaces of the minivan, I'm actually starting to warm up to the idea. Or get a cheesy office desk runner for where Eli and Tobey step the most.

Tobey and Eli are LOVING climbing around in the minivan. Today I let them and Cedric climb around as Minette and I chatted at the van before lunch. At some point Cedric found the "eject" button of the CD player and out popped a CD and he was trying to shove it back in. I had a silent heart attack (and now Tom REALLY is passed out on the floor!) but verified that everything still works as is. I'd like to rethink the climbing around the minivan rule but it would be tough given that we wanted extra comfortable space to, well, climb around in.

Everyone says just wait a few days or weeks and we will all be back to normal in the car. I'll be sure to report back when the honeymoon is over.
