When Chinese comes in handy

We decided to split up the gift opening to some on Christmas Eve and some on Christmas Day, just to make the influx of new things slightly gradual for the boys. So over Christmas Eve dinner, Tom says in Chinese, so as to not clue in the boys:

"Wo men jing tian wan shang kai ji ge li wu?" ("Are we going to open some presents tonight?")
"Ke yi." ("Sure.")

Then Tobey says: "kai li wu" means we're opening presents!

So much for our secret language. At least preschool is paying off!
