Eli: Back to the binky
We've used it on a couple of occasions before but today was the first time I clearly saw the benefit of the pacifier for Eli.
We were out at Gyros on University and Eli started crying. He might have been hungry but we were eating a quick lunch anyway so I could nurse him afterward. I have to remember not to let Eli cry as long as I usually do at home as I think some folk in that little restaurant were getting annoyed. Then again, it was a very casual noisy restaurant with the door open to the street anyway.
The binky worked well for Eli as he was a little tired from the activitiy of visiting great grandma in the morning. He napped a little during lunch and the ride home before getting HIS lunch. Funny, I didn't hear my mom talk about the cons of pacifiers with this child. Maybe she saw that it is a helpful tool for kids who will take to it. And if they get off the "habit" soon enough, then it's not such a bad thing.
Also, I realized that only the white/red binky that we have makes our babies look like Hannibal Lechter. Eli had the navy one today and it didn't look so weird.
