Void in our room
Okay. NOW I think we can say we've kicked Eli out of our room. Although my family is in town, they are all in a hotel this time. So after 6 almost continuous weeks of visitors/help, we have the house to ourselves again. And so we commemorate it by moving the bassinet into the guest room for "good".
Although I wouldn't go back to sharing a room with Eli, nor having him hog up our room, the corner where his bassinet was now feels a bit empty. It's been there since he came home from the hospital and although it's only been less than 6 weeks, it feels like he's been there his whole life...oh wait, he has. Anyway, it's a milestone indeed to move him to "his" room, the nursery/office/guest room. I'm not crying this time like I did for Tobey. But it is a nostalgic and bittersweet parting of ways.
