Pumping boot camp

I've been worrying over my milk supply for the past week, ever since the middle of the family get together last week when we were going out daily and using up my freezer stash with no time to replenish it with more pumped milk. Add on to that, Eli seems to be better at taking a bottle, either that or we're better at reading when he's hungry. And therefore he's drinking his fill, which is more than the 4-5 oz. of "extra milk" that I'd pump each morning. Plus with the busyness and stress of hosting, I felt like my natural milk supply wasn't keeping up with Eli's needs anymore.

So I've gotten serious about feeding again. Eli protests when the milk slows down after the first let down or two. If I've chugged a lot of water, then both sides seem to satisfy him...barely. And now when he gets his daily evening bottle, I pump instead of just skip that feeding. I guess with everything for an infant, the routine changes and therefore so does my pumping schedule. I've even, gasp!, decided to try some of the "Chinese" foods that my mom says to boost supply: soups, including fish soup. I've never cooked a fish soup, only eaten CC's nanny's fish and papaya soup.

My freezer stash is slowly building up again. But it is taking a lot of work.
