New format for today
Instead of my rambling, whiny prose that I usually write to describe a day, that only my most faithful readers would read all the way through, I'm going to try just summarizing my day in bullet points. + and - bullet points. What went right, what went wrong. What made me happy, what drove me crazy. You get the idea.
I bet Tom wishes I would speak in bullet points instead of complaining when he gets home.
Here goes:
- Eli coughs and hacks and needs Albuterol at 5AM.
+ Tom got up to check on him without disturbing him (I don't have that same skill!)
+ Eli actually goes back to sleep peacefully (i.e., no crying, but still a little coughing).
- Tom was coughing in bed until 6:15.
+ Eli slept until 7:00.
- Eli only drank 4 of 8 oz.
+ Eli didn't wake up Tobey.
- Tobey wet his PJ's, even with his usual diaper on.
- Tobey didn't want to wear underwear.
+ I kept upbeat and convinced him to wear underwear anyway.
- Eli ate about 5 spoons of breakfast.
+ Eli was napping while I got a peaceful shower. Tobey was watching Mr. R.
- I discovered I got the worst sunburn ever while at the pool with MTO yesterday.
- Tobey made a puddle in the living room while watching Mr. R.
+ He went to the bathroom himself to clean up and take off the wet pants.
- I came out of the shower to find him "exploring", sans pants, on the unprotected couch.
+ Nothing happened to the couch.
- Eli's morning nap was 30 min.
+ Eli finally ate the rest of his breakfast AND a whole jar of pears!
+ Tobey peed and pooped a big poop in the potty!
+ We got out of the house today!
- But we had to sacrifice Eli's next nap for it.
+ Tobey held his pee while we walked through the store to the bathroom!
+ Tobey peed on a public bathroom toilet!
- He didn't "point" down fast enough and peed on my leg.
+ The rest of our shopping was relaxed because the "peeing" was out of the way.
+ I got a craft idea at Michael's for the kids for cake-n-ice-cream on Sunday!
+ Eli fell asleep in the car and transferred to his bed.
+ Tobey peed in the potty even though he knew he was getting a pull-up at naptime.
+ Eli slept for 2 hours.
+ Tobey slept for 3 hours.
- Eli's 2 hours and Tobey's 3 hours barely overlapped.
- It was hot today but...
+ We have air conditioning! But...
- I got a splinter in my palm moving the A/C unit into place.
- Eli was up from 2:45 until bedtime.
- Eli drank 2 oz. of his 6 oz. bottle.
+ Eli ate a big dinner...oh wait, it's lunch because he didn't eat lunch.
+ After nap, Tobey peed in the potty but...
- Eli reached in and spilled pee all over himself.
- Tobey cries because he can't flush his spilled pee. He also claims he can't pull his pants up.
+ Although I lose it, I am able to tell Tobey I'm not mad at him, I'm mad at the spilled pee.
- Tom gets caught up at work and couldn't call home to give me a heads up.
- Eli cries for 20 min. going down for a nap, thus making a nap at 6:20 ridiculous.
- Ran out of rice.
+ Borrowed rice from Hoa AND got to leave Tobey with her for 20 min.
+ Tom came home early for being late.
- Tom left 45 min. later to babysit for Mark & Cindy.
+ Eli ate a little bedtime snack and drank 2 oz. (ooo, ahh).
- Eli cried for 30 min. before giving up and conking out.
- Tobey didn't pee before going to bed but...
+ ...at least he didn't puddle!
+ Both kids ARE in bed!
Okay, that was longer than I thought, but as Tom prayed when saying grace for our up and down days, even with all the downs, we should be thankful for the ups. It's hard for me to go through an up and down day ignoring the downs so I just have to list them when searching for the ups.
27 +'s to 25 -'s. I guess I can't say it was a bad day after all...barely.
