Packing lunches

It's already started. I'm packing lunches the night before school.....and Tobey doesn't even eat lunch at school!

It's Eli I'm packing for. Tomorrow's a day out, first at MTO where he needs to eat his breakfast. Then lunch with Anna and Jocelyn so another meal to pack. Now I see why parents are eager to get their kids on table food.

Actually, this could be a very regular occurence. If I go to the Y regularly (will blog about my first visit today later), then packing Eli's breakfast will be the norm. Thankfully, his breakfast is as standard as Tobey's was and easy to pack: banana, an egg (unlike Tobey, Eli likes a good boiled egg) and a piece of toast/bread. And today he did well eating at the Y.

To start so early packing "lunches". I'm sure I'll be sick of it by the time Tobey hits 1st grade.

Yeah, I'm sick of it already for my first grader, especially since you can't get away with packing PB&J anymore. I get excited when there's a good school lunch offering (like Egg Roll Thursday) so I can just stick $2 in his pack and call it a day.

I'm packing lunches for audrey these days too, since her school day goes from about 9am to 4pm. I've found that packing the night before while doing dinner works best and is the most convenient/easiest. She usually likes to eat her lunch cold anyway, although the school can heat it up if I request. Also, I bought a few tupperwares with 2 or 3 compartments so that I can put a variety of foods in...... audrey seems to eat better when she has many choices and colors. I'll post a few photos soon to let you see!
