Blowing up at Eli

I can sense surface frustration surging again because now Eli is a true toddler. He's cute as a button but I find myself often saying, "What part of 'no' do you not understand?...to a 1.5 year old. That's after I've already yelled no about 5 times.

When he digs through tupperware cabinets and makes a mess, it's not cute. At least Tobey had a chance to do that and be cute. But poor Eli. Mommy already cleaned up the tupperware cabinet for one child. I'm already sick of cleaning it up by the time you first discover it. The same goes for climbing on tables, coming into the bathroom or turning on the TV.

The jury is still out on whether Eli is more persistent than Tobey or if I'm just less patient. But one thing's for sure, I'm going to have to go back and review my toddler discipline tactics because Eli's sure putting me to the test. I'm glad Cori and a couple of other moms in my MTO group have their first kids the same age as Eli. Ironically I think I'll need to re-learn from them what I've already forgotten with Tobey.
