Eli: *Fzzzzzt!*

Hard to believe Eli is 5 months and by the time we return from the East Coast after the New Year, he'll almost be a half year!

Yesterday, Eli started blowing "razzberries". Funny how kids just discover these things -- it's not like we were teaching him. Sadly enough, with Tobey, I was probably watching out for a minor milestone like this, on cue from "What to Expect in the First Year". With Eli, I'm pleasantly surprised, too busy to anticipate milestones, just hopefully not too busy to miss them.

Funny that in some ways Eli is developing so obviously. He still loves to stand and jump and has become expert jumper in his doorway jumper and the Jumperoo in church nursery. But in others, he might be behind. He seems almost able to flip from back onto tummy, but I have a feeling that because he doesn't get much floor time due to our hardwood floors, he'll be behind in this milestone. And sometimes he can flip (i.e., roll) from tummy to back in his lopsided pack-n-play but that's usually when he's supposed to fall asleep so we just plop him back on his tummy. I wonder if he thinks we're trying to prevent him from flipping because now on the occasion that he is on his back, he doesn't seem to try flipping as hard as he used to.

On a related sidenote, Tobey seems to celebrate Eli's milestones more. Tobey likes doing tummy time and lifts his head proudly when Eli does. Cute.
