Tobey: Big boy bed
I asked my mom to borrow another pack-n-play for Tobey to sleep in when we visit over New Year's. She asked if he was too big for one and I said, "nah". But then I observed him playing in his playpen and sure enough, he's kind of too big to sleep in one all night. The last time he napped in one was a few months ago, maybe just before Eli was born.
So out of necessity, it will be the first time Tobey is out of a crib for sleeping. Not sure whether to try a normal bed with rails or have him sleep on the floor. We may need to institute the "rules" about sleeping in a non-crib. I don't anticipate him crawling out in the middle of the night or at bedtime. But I do fear the early morning "wake up" of a drooling 2-year old in my face or more seriously, a curious 2-year old crawling down my parents long staircase by himself.
Well, all these upcoming issues almost don't matter to me because with 4BR, 3BA and 1500 sf (that's just my parents UPSTAIRS!), we are just looking forward to the comfy accommodations at my parents' place.

Well, update on the big boy bed: we ended up using a borrowed pack-n-play because we were too lazy to borrow a youth bed from one of my parents' church friends and too lazy to deal with him sleeping on a big bed. And so the crib weaning will have to be delayed to another time.
